But before, let me just stress that we are not dealing with people who wants to hurt Bill Gates as they claim, we are dealing with sick egocentrical people loving chaos... Be cautious or buy yourself a macintosh...
These are all free softwares, some with options of buying an upgrade but still will work freely with no expiration date...
The first thing for me definitively is the firewall.

Others exist but this is a good start...
It is true that it could be too late for some computers who would already be infected... Still try cleaning up before deleting everything... Worms, for example, can be very hard to get rid of, altough some can be deleted and others contained by the firewall, they still can worm there way in and out of your computer... Some virus are stronger then there creators...
